Sangli, May 14 -- Taking action against the storage of unlicensed food items, the Food and Drug Administration, Sangli Office, seized 26.6 thousand kg of imported raisins worth about Rs. 69.17 lakhs, at Chorochi in Kavathemahankal taluka of this district today.

In an official press release by DIO office, NS Masare, assistant commissioner (food), said that the action has been taken with the aim of not creating a threat to the health of the public.

Masare said that a team of the Food and Drug Administration inspected the plantation of Ajitkumar Patil Badana Processing Center, Group No. 767, Jambhulwadi Phata, Md. Po. Chorochi, Tal. Kavathemahankal.
