Pune, April 26 -- A strong show of unity has emerged in Bhavani Peth and Nana Peth as local Mandal representatives came together to ensure the smooth passage and traditional two-day halt of the historic Palkhi processions in the city, a centuries-old religious and cultural tradition dedicated to revered saints Dnyaneshwar and Tukaram.

Amid concerns over massive crowds and traffic jams, the representatives of various mandals met Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram and submitted a memorandum requesting that no changes be made to the traditional route and resting of the Palkhi. Notably, despite an ongoing general body meeting, the Commissioner stepped out to personally meet the delegation and accept their representation.
