Kolhapur, Sept. 15 -- union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale stated that the Central government has made an estimated provision of Rs 3 lakh crore for the overall upliftment of people with disabilities in the country.

Athawale made the statement while addressing a gathering at the distribution of free assistive devices for registered disabled persons in Kolhapur district, held at Swami Vivekananda College.

The minister said that the central government is moving in the same direction as Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj, who made a historic revolutionary decision in 1902 to provide reservations to various communities.
