UNHRC formally adopts resolution condemning Iran's attacks on Persian Gulf as 'existential threat'

Tehran, March 25 -- The UN Human Rights Council has formally adopted a resolution, condemning Iran's attacks on Gulf states, post warnings from Gulf diplomats who said that the Islamic Republic's attacks pose an "existential threat".

The 47-member body approved the motion by consensus on Wednesday after it was tabled by Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Jordan. The resolution denounced Tehran's what it described as "unprovoked and deliberate" strikes, and called on Tehran to halt attacks with immediate effect, and provide full, swift reparations to victims.
