Kakinada, June 5 -- Dr. Umar Alisha, head of the Sri Viswa Vignana Vidya Adhyathmika Peetham, flagged off a World Environment Day awareness rally at the Peetham's Vakalapudi Ashram in Kakinada on Friday, calling upon people to actively participate in environmental protection through plantation and conservation efforts.
The rally commenced from the Vakalapudi Ashram and passed through Ramanaiahpeta and Sarpavaram Junction before culminating in a public meeting near the statue of Kavisekhara Umar Alisha at the Boat Club.
