London, May 13 -- The UK government's National Wealth Fund has made its first direct defence and national security investment, committing £25 million to British engineering firm Rowden Technologies, as per reports.

The funding marks a shift in the bank's investment focus toward defence, resilience, and dual-use technologies alongside its wider clean energy and growth agenda.

The investment is expected to support the creation of around 100 jobs over the next year and help expand Rowden's Bristol operations, as per local media reports.
