New Delhi, July 16 -- The United Kingdom's (UK) annual rate of inflation rose unexpectedly to the mark of 3.6 per cent in June.

The drastic price surge is driven by a rise in food and fuel prices, respectively.

As per the Office for National Statistics, which is the UK's largest independent producer of official statistics, the Consumer Price Index rose by the mark of 3.6 per cent in June compared to the 3.4 per cent of May. It's higher than the data provided by economists and financial analysts.
