Kampala, July 7 -- Uganda will send a team to the World Short Course Swimming Championships in Beijing from December 1-6, the country's swimming governing bodyconfirmed on Tuesday.

Moses Mwase, president of Uganda Aquatics, told Xinhua the Beijing event is one of several major international competitions on Uganda's schedule this year.

"We shall have our swimmers participate in several international championships in 2026, including the World Aquatics Swimming Championship in China. The swimmers have been preparing since the start of the year since we have arranged to take part in many events, including the Commonwealth Games in Scotland," Mwase said.
