Chennai, Aug. 28 -- Leader of the Opposition and DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin and AIADMK General Secretary and Legislature party leader Edappadi K Palaniswami on Friday raised concerns over the sharp rise in prices of essential commodities in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, and urged the government to take immediate steps to ease the burden of the poor and middle class.
Speaking during a Calling Attention motion given notice of by members of various parties, Udhayanidhi said the prices of rice, pulses, cooking oil, sugar and other essential commodities had increased steeply over the past six months.
