Mumbai, Oct. 11 -- Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) chief Uddhav Thackeray today accused the Maharashtra government of mocking farmers who have been devastated by excessive rainfall and floods.
He made these remarks while addressing the Hambarada Morcha rally at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district.
Thackeray said "We are ready to accept the relief package announced by the state government for the affected farmers, but with one condition.
"The government has announced Rs 3 lakh assistance under MGNREGA for those whose farmlands have been completely eroded. Out of that, 1 lakh should be directly deposited into farmers' bank accounts before Diwali," said he.
