Mumbai, Sept. 7 -- Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde officially announced during the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) meeting here on Monday that the post of Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena corporator Vishakha Raut has been cancelled after she was found to have filed an invalid caste certificate.
The development came after the Palghar District Caste Verification Committee declared Vishakha Raut's caste certificate to be invalid.
A government resolution (GR) was issued by the Urban Development Department after the Palghar caste certificate scrutiny committee on August 21 cancelled Raut's OBC caste certificate for filing it under wrongful jurisdiction.
