Mumbai, Sept. 11 -- The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has granted permission to the Shiv Sena (UBT) to hold its annual Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park on October 2. This year, only the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction applied for the iconic venue, according to civic officials.

With BMC elections approaching and speculation rife about an alliance between the Thackeray brothers, the event is expected to carry significant political weight. Preparations are already in full swing.
