Hingoli, June 28 -- : Shiv Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray alleged that the BJP's so-called "Operation Tiger" was, in reality, an "Operation Devendra" masterminded by union Home Minister Amit Shah to prevent Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis from emerging as a future contender for the post of prime minister.

Addressing a public meeting in Hingoli on Saturday , Thackeray claimed the political operation was designed to keep Fadnavis "under control" and questioned why the rebel Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs chose to join the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena instead of directly joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
