New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- Indian women's wrestlers continued their strong run at the 2026 U20 World Championships in Slovakia, with Kajal Dhochak winning gold in the 76kg category while Tanu Sharma and Savita added silver medals on a memorable day for the Indian contingent.
The 18-year-old Kajal produced a dominant performance in the 76kg final, defeating China's Jingru Sun to 7-0 on points to claim the world title. She did not concede a single point throughout the tournament.
Kajal has now become only the second Indian wrestler to win the U20 World Championships twice. She had claimed the 72kg title last year and moved up to 76kg this season. The latest triumph adds to her 2024 U17 World Championships gold in the 69kg category.
