New Delhi, Aug. 10 -- India has made an outstanding start to the Under-23 Commonwealth Fencing Championship by securing an impressive 17 medals on the first day of the competition, being held in Lagos, Nigeria, from August 9 to 14, 2026.
As per the official communique, the Indian contingent won four Gold, four Silver and nine Bronze medals across the Men's and Women's individual events in Sabre, Foil and Epee.
Indian fencers reached the podium in all six individual events, highlighting the depth and strength of India's emerging Under-23 fencing talent.
As per the details, in the Men's Sabre individual event, the medallists were Nikhil Wagh, Lakshy Badser, Ashwini Aryan and Laishram Moramba.
