Shillong, May 9 -- Meghalaya started positively in the Swami Vivekananda U-20 Men's National Football Championship 2026 with a 3-1 victory against Bihar in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

Samborlang Langte (20') put Meghalaya in front with a sensational long-range effort that took everyone's breath away in the Group A contest and, before Bihar could really recover, Menangpyndap Khongjee (26') doubled the lead a few minutes later.

Bihar were not subdued, however, and pulled a goal back in the early part of the second half thanks to Md Sadique Rahman (48').
