Chennai, Dec. 27 -- In a tragic incident, two workers were buried alivewhen they were engaged in digging a well at Kotagiri in the hilly Nilgirisof Tamil Nadu today.
In all five workers were engaged to dig the well for an under constructionlodging complex.
While two of them were digging the well at a depth of 30-40 ft, three othersstayed above to receive the soil.
Suddenly a portion of the soil caved in, burying the two workers identifedas Panneerselvam and Satheeshkumar.
Police and Fire service and rescue personnel rushed to the spot and rescuedthem, who were trapped in huge mounds of soil, in an unconscious state. Butthey were declared dead on being taken to a hospital.
