Agartala, April 6 -- Tripura Police made a significant arrest by apprehending two women from Bihar for their alleged attempt to smuggle approximately 50 kg of dried cannabis valued at around Rs 3 lakh in Udaipur of Tripura's Gomati district on Monday.
The operation was initiated by a police team led by Officer-in-Charge Tapan Das of Garji Outpost Police Station in Udaipur, who conducted a routine naka check in front of the Garji Police Station.
During the routine naka checking, a passenger bus traveling from Belonia (South District) to Agartala (West District) was halted on suspicion, leading to the discovery of a large consignment of cannabis during a subsequent search.
