Washington, July 19 -- Two U.S. service members were killed and another remains missing after Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks on U.S. and partner forces in Jordan, the U.S. military said on Sunday (IST), marking the first American combat deaths from direct Iranian fire since March.

"On July 17, two U.S. service members in Jordan were killed in action as U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and partner forces defended against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks. Additionally, one service member is currently missing in action," U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement posted on social media.
