Chennai, Nov. 11 -- Two watchmen on night duty at a temple, administered by the HR andCE Department, were hacked to death by an unidentified gang which also decamped with theHundi collectons in the southern Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu, triggering strongcondemnation from the Opposition parties, including the AIADMK, BJP and the PMK.
The incident which occurred inside the Nachadai Thavirtharuliya Swamy temple at Devadanamvillage near Rajapalayam late last night, came to light when the temple, was opened for regularmorning pujas today.
The deceased were identified as Petchimuthu and Sankarapandian, aged 55 and 60, respectively.
