Chhapra, July 2 -- Two teenage girls drowned while bathing in a pond in Bihar's Saran district on Wednesday, police said.
The victims were identified as Khushbu Kumari, 15, daughter of Dinesh Rawat, and Anchal Kumari, 13, daughter of Dashrath Prasad. Both were residents of Narsinghbhanpur village in the Amnour police station area.
Police said the girls had gone to the pond to bathe when they reportedly ventured into deep water and drowned.
Police, assisted by local villagers, recovered the bodies after being alerted to the incident. The bodies were sent to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examinations, police said.
