Mumbai, June 10 -- Two Sri Lankan nationals were arrested at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport for allegedly smuggling hydroponic cannabis worth Rs 8.56 crore from Bangkok, Mumbai Customs Zone-III officials said on Wednesday.
Acting on intelligence inputs, customs officers intercepted the passengers who had arrived on IndiGo flight 6E1052 from Bangkok, an official press note said.
During baggage inspection, 8.562 kg of suspected hydroponic weed concealed inside a trolley bag was recovered, officials said. The contraband is valued at approximately Rs 8.56 crore in the illicit market, they added.
