Essex, July 1 -- Two people have died after a light aircraft carrying out a "short flight experience" crashed in a field near Ongar, Essex, local media reported police as saying.
The two-seat Cessna had taken off from North Weald Airfield on Wednesday for a brief flight before crashing in a field off Mill Lane at around 12.30pm.
Detective Chief Superintendent Morgan Cronin of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate confirmed that both occupants died in the incident. The victims have not yet been formally identified.
