Chennai, July 26 -- Two workers were killed and few others sustained serious injuries in a blast at an illegal makeshift cracker making shed at Sengalamaptti village near Sivakasi in the southern Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday.
Reports received here said several workers were engaged in manufcturing crackers under makeshift tin sheds, when a sudden firecaused due to friction while handling chemicals, resulted in an explosion with a deafening sound.
The impact of the blast was such it was felt upto a distance of nearly five km radius with thick some engulfing the area.
