Wayanad (Kerala), July 7 -- Two people have been confirmed dead and at least 10 others are still feared trapped beneath debris after a massive landslide struck the under-construction tunnel road project at Kalladi in Meppadi, Wayanad, on Tuesday morning.
The disaster also completely destroyed a mosque, a house, and a bus stop, while rescue operations continue amid heavy rain and the threat of fresh landslides.
The landslide occurred near Meenakshi Bridge when a huge mass of earth, along with a massive concrete retaining wall built for the tunnel project, collapsed, triggering widespread destruction.
