Basti, July 21 -- A tragic road accident claimed the lives of two Kanwariyas yesterday near Gotwa Bazaar on the Basti-Ayodhya highway.
The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Sadar police station while the devotees were returning after collecting holy water from the Saryu river in Ayodhya for the ritual of Jalabhishek.
The deceased have been identified as Rajkumar alias Thanthan (34) and Akash, residents of Bhithia village under Belhar Kalan police station in Sant Kabir Nagar district. The two were cousins and had embarked on their pilgrimage together.
