Shimla, June 3 -- Remote tribal Gram Panchayat Shansha in Lahaul and Spiti district, has brought laurels to Himachal Pradesh by securing the national first prize and a cash award of Rs 1 crore under the "Socially Just & Socially Secured Panchayat" category at the National Panchayat Awards 2026, while Gram Panchayat Lohardi in Mandi district won the joint third prize in the "Clean and Green Panchayat" category.
The awards were presented at a function organised by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj at the SCOPE Convention Centre in New Delhi on Wednesday.
