Nagpur, Nov. 22 -- In a tragic incident in Khaparkheda's Jai Bhole Nagar, a mother and her son died after being electrocuted, police said today.
The deceased have been identified as Nirmala Uttam Sontakke (55) and her son Lokesh Uttam Sontakke (29), who worked for Western Coalfields Limited.
According to preliminary reports, Nirmala was hanging washed clothes on an iron wire inside her house when it came into contact with a live electrical cable. She was electrocuted instantly and collapsed.
Hearing her screams, Lokesh, who had just returned from his night shift, came running to help his mother. However, as he touched her, he too was electrocuted.
