Two devotees die on first day of Chardham pilgrimage 2026
Prithviraj SinghDehradun Apr 20 (UNI) Two Chardham pilgrims died on Sunday owing to suspected asphyxia on the first day of the pilgrimage 2026 that took off with opening of the portals of the Yamunotri temple.However, doctors said the exact reason of the deaths is yet to be known.The first death was recorded in the day time as a 65-year-old man from Nashik fell unconscious as he was going towards Yamunotri Temple. The pilgrim was declared brought dead by doctors when taken to the nearby public health centre.The second deceased pilgrim was a 40-year-old woman from Indore in Madhya Pradesh.
