Varanasi, May 31 -- The Varanasi Cyber Crime Police team has arrested two notorious criminals from Motihari, Bihar, who were allegedly involved in cyber fraud by luring women through matrimonial websites.
Mobile phones and cash used in the crime were also recovered from them.
Both arrested criminals are residents of East Champaran district in Bihar. Vijay Kumar (28) is an eighth-grade graduate, while the other accused, Rohit Ranjan (19), was pursuing a B.Tech.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime) Vidush Saxena said here today that the accused first created fake profiles on various matrimonial websites. They then lured naive women and girls into their trap by pretending to be friends with them.
