Mangaluru, May 22 -- Vittal police in Karnataka's Dakshina Kannada district intercepted a pickup vehicle allegedly involved in illegal cattle transportation and rescued two cattle during an operation at Panjarakodi in Kolnadu village, police said on Friday.
One person, identified as Mohammed Haneef (44), a resident of Balepuni, was arrested in connection with the case, while another accused managed to escape from the spot, police added.
According to police, the vehicle was intercepted during a checking operation launched to monitor suspicious movement in the area. During inspection, officials found two cattle being transported in the pickup vehicle.
