Buldhana, July 12 -- : Two minor boys drowned while swimming in the Purna river near Manegaon village in Nandura tehsil of Maharashtra's Buldhana district on Sunday, police said.
The deceased were identified as Pratik alias Mantu Shiva Wankhede (12) and Krishna Balu Bhopale (14), both residents of Ward No. 1 in Nandura town.
According to preliminary information, the two friends had gone to the river for a swim in the morning when they reportedly ventured into deep water after misjudging its depth and drowned.
On receiving information, members of the Om Sai Foundation's rescue team launched a search operation and recovered both boys from the river after sustained efforts.
