Baghpat (UP), Oct. 24 -- A cooperative society accused of luring investors with promises of doubling their money has been booked for fraud after allegedly collecting crores of rupees from locals in Baghpat district.

Among the 22 people named in the FIR are Bollywood actors Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath, who were reportedly presented as brand ambassadors of the society, officials confirmed today.

The case pertains to The Loni Urban Multi-State Credit and Thrift Cooperative Society, whose agents and officials are accused of duping hundreds of people by offering lucrative investment schemes.
