Lucknow, May 26 -- At least 10 people were killed and several others were injured in 2 separate road accidents in Uttar Pradesh.

In a first accident, a double-decker AC bus in Unnao went out of control and overturned on the Lucknow-Agra expressway around 5 a.m. on Tuesday.

Six passengers were killed and more than 15 injured in the accident. The bus, travelling from Delhi to Bihar, was carrying approximately 30 passengers. Initial police investigations indicate that the driver dozed off.

Police said the bus was on top speed when the driver lost control. The bus hit a divider, overturned, and became stuck on a railing. Several passengers were thrown from the bus windows onto the expressway below.
