Ankara/Damascus, Aug. 20 -- Turkey's Defence Ministry has denied that a Turkish military delegation visited Syria's Abu al-Duhur airbase before Israel struck the site this week, contradicting remarks made by Syria's foreign minister a day earlier.

"There was no Turkish military delegation at the (Abu al-Duhur) airbase in Syria before or during Israel's attack on the base," Turkish Defence Ministry spokesperson Rear Adm Zeki Akturk said at a briefing on Thursday, and called the Israeli strikes "unacceptable".
