Tirumala, July 21 -- The vigilance and security personnel of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Monday returned a bag containing about 100 grams of gold ornaments to a devotee who had accidentally left it behind at the Alipiri Security Checkpoint.
According to TTD, the unattended bag was noticed during routine security screening at around 11.35 a.m.
The vigilance staff took the bag into safe custody and, after verifying its contents, examined CCTV footage to identify its owner.
The bag was traced to Mahesh, a devotee from Hyderabad, who had not realised that he had misplaced it.
TTD personnel contacted him immediately and, after verifying his identity, handed over the bag along with the valuables.
