Washington, Oct. 7 -- US President Donald Trump thanked the Hostages and Missing Families Forum for nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize, expressing optimism that ongoing talks in Egypt could soon lead to the release of all hostages held by Hamas - vowing vengeance otherwise, should the terror group refuse to cooperate, reports Times of Israel.
In a letter released on Tuesday, Trump said he was "deeply honoured" by the gesture from the Forum, which represents the majority of the relatives of those still held captive in Gaza.
The organisation had earlier appealed to the Norwegian Nobel Committee to award Trump this year's peace prize in recognition of his efforts to end the war and secure the hostages' release.
