Washington/Tehran, July 8 -- US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Washington could reinstate its naval blockade of Iranian ports and vessels, escalating pressure on Tehran after declaring the US-Iran ceasefire framework effectively "over."Speaking on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump suggested that Washington was once again considering reimposing restrictions that had been lifted under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Washington and Tehran in June.

"We may put down the blockade, we may put it back, the blockade, and it'll only be a blockade for Iran," Trump said. "Anybody else can have whatever they want."He also accused Iran of continuing to pose a threat to maritime security in the Gulf.
