Trump says Republicans would have won midterms 'in a landslide' if he had been on ballot

Washington, Nov. 5 -- US President Donald Trump, reacting to sweeping Democratic victories in the midterm elections, claimed that Republicans would have won "in a landslide" had he himself been on the ballot.

"I wasn't on the Ballot and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE! Thank you for your attention to this matter," Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform.

Trump later posted a photograph of a baseball cap bearing the word "VETO" on the front, in an apparent reference to his executive powers and the political challenges posed by the Democrats' victories.
