Washington, Sept. 13 -- US President Donald Trump on Sunday said Tehran was seeking a deal to end the war, while insisting that any agreement must prevent the country from acquiring nuclear weapons. He also urged Ukraine to stop attacking Russian diesel refineries, saying the strikes were contributing to a global fuel shortage.
Trump told reporters that Iran was making repeated efforts to reach an agreement but stressed that Washington would accept a deal only if it served US interests.
"Look, it could end before the midterms, but it'll end after the midterms," Trump said, predicting that US gasoline prices would "drop like a rock" once the hostilities end.
