Washington, April 26 -- US President Donald Trump was escorted out of the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner at the Washington Hilton Hotel after loud, unexplained noise caused alarm during the event.
Proceedings were halted mid-event, and attendees were directed to exit as security personnel responded. Secret Service agents quickly converged on the stage, where Trump had been present, and removed him from the hall.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he left the venue after what he described as a shooting-related incident.
"Law enforcement has requested that we leave the premises, consistent with protocol, which we will do immediately," he wrote.
