Washington, Aug. 11 -- US President Donald Trump added a fresh demand for Iran to compensate the United States for the harm committed by Tehran over the past 50 years, further escalating the standoff over the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump's comments came after Iranian officials said the United States should compensate Iran for damage caused during the five-month conflict and linked any reopening of the vital waterway to a series of demands, including an end to US military action and sanctions.
