Washington/Tehran, March 23 -- US President Donald Trump said the Strait of Hormuz could reopen "very soon" if diplomatic efforts with Iran succeed, believing the key narrow waterway might come under some form of joint control.

Speaking to reporters, Trump suggested an unconventional arrangement for the vital waterway, which carries roughly 20% of global oil supplies.
