New Delhi, April 29 -- Signalling a deep divide between the US and its European allies on Iran issue, President Donald Trump strongly criticised German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Wednesday, saying he (Merz) thinks it's OK for Iran to have a nuclear weapon.
Trump said on his social media platform ''no wonder Germany is doing so poorly, both economically, and otherwise.''He said the German Chancellor doesn't know what he's talking about.
''If Iran had a nuclear weapon, the whole World would be held hostage,'' Trump said.
He said he is doing something with Iran, right now, that other nations, or Presidents, should have done long ago.
