Faridabad, July 20 -- The Cyber Police Station, Ballabgarh, has arrested a 27-year-old truck driver from Uttarakhand for allegedly providing a bank account used by cyber fraudsters to siphon off Rs 40,000 from a Faridabad resident after hacking his mobile phone.

The accused, identified as Gurdev, a resident of Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, was arrested by a team of the Cyber Police Station, Ballabgarh.

He was produced before a local court, which remanded him to three days of police custody for further investigation.

According to the police, the investigation revealed that Gurdev had allegedly obtained the bank account of one Baljinder through another accused, Amarjeet, and subsequently handed it over to cyber fraudsters for use in the ...
