Agartala, Aug. 31 -- The elections for 587 Village Committees (VCs) under Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC) are set to take place on September 28, marking the first such event in a decade, said the State Election Commission (SEC) here on Monday.
The State Election Commissioner, Dr. P K Chakraborty, has set October 5 as the date for vote counting, with the entire election process expected to conclude by October 8.
Despite initial preparations for the 2022 elections, including work on electoral authorities, polling stations, and electoral rolls, which were begun by the SEC, complications from the COVID-19 pandemic and related legal issues necessitated postponements.
