Agartala, July 3 -- To boost the livelihoods of mango growers and enhance their economic condition in Tripura, the Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Department has decided to expand mango cultivation by an additional 180 hectares of land in the Dhalai district, considering its export potential.
The Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister, Ratan Lal Nath, after inaugurating the Monsoon Mango Festival at Narikelkunja last evening, said that mango imports from other states have reduced substantially over the past few years, and Tripura has become self-sufficient in mango cultivation.
