Agartala, Aug. 12 -- Tripura government is seeking a soft loan worth Rs 1,200 crore from Asian Development Bank (ADB) to improve flood mitigation infrastructure, storm-water drainage, drinking-water supplies, and various tourism initiatives within the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC).

According to Urban Development Secretary, Dr Milind Ramteke, the project aims to advance Agartala's ongoing efforts to address waterlogging and urban flooding issues, especially during heavy rainfall, ultimately alleviating the hardships faced by the city's six lakh population.
