Agartala, July 28 -- Prominent Indian classical musician Dr Jayanta Sarkar, hailing from Agartala, has obtained an Indian patent for the Tripureswari Veena - a newly developed string instrument that draws inspiration from cultural elements and pays homage to the state's abundant musical and spiritual legacy.
Dr Sarkar said Tripureswari Veena stands out as a distinct combination of Indian classical music, the local artistic heritage of Tripura, scientific advancement, and philosophical influences. Inspired by Mata Tripureswari, the cherished deity of Tripura and one of India's 51 Shakti Peethas, the instrument aims to safeguard and elevate the cultural identity endemic to Tripura.
