Agartala, Aug. 22 -- In a significant ruling on Child Care Leave (CCL) for female government employees, the Tripura High Court has held that authorities must sincerely evaluate the real necessity cited in applications for such leave, while recognising that CCL is not an absolute statutory entitlement.

Justice Biswajit Palit directed the State government to grant 365 days of CCL to a female Post Graduate Teacher after finding that her application had neither been adequately considered nor declined on valid grounds.
